Napster

Napster is coming back, this time as a direct download service (no P2P file sharing!). (Napster used to be the first official P2P network offering free downloads but it was forced to shut-down its activities because of legal suits. ). Napster is now fast, safe and legal!

The site is easy to use, intuitive and has a wide-selection (more than 3 millions songs, covering all the major labels) of songs and styles. To copy a MP3 song to your portable player, a user just needs to drag and drop the file on the MP3-Player icon that appears on the screen. Download as much as you want and play it on your PC or a compatible MP3 player as long as you're still subscribed. Read Napster full review ...

iTunes

Apple’s iTunes is one of the leader MP3 download service available, but is often referred as expensive for its value. eMusic

eMusic is one of the cheapest site around providing you with MP3 as low as $0.25 per song. The only drawback is the semi-limited selection of artists available\. The site currently has a bit more than 1 million songs, compared with 3 million for Napster, as an example. The site is one of the few major music subscriptions sites to offer you all its music in the unprotected MP3 format, so a user can keep all the tracks downloaded and play/copythem on portable music players or burn CD. Downloads are limited depending on the package you select - 40, 65 or 99 mp3's a month. Read eMusic full review ...
